Abstract
Pravilna preventiva ozljeda i bolesti konja zahtijeva veliku posvećenost čovjeka prema konju. Svakodnevnom njegom i brigom oko konja, vođenjem evidencije o raznim promjenama u ponašanju može se pravovremeno reagirati na novonastalu situaciju te samim time pravilno postupiti u slučaju ozljede ili pojave bolesti brzom primjenom prve pomoći do dolaska veterinara, koji će preuzeti daljnje liječenje. Za uspješnu preventivu važno je poznavati sve segmente uzgoja konja počevši od smještaja, hranidbe pa do osnova anatomije i fiziologije konja. Važni čimbenici u pravovremenoj preventivi su osiguranje boksa prilikom ždrijebljenja, postupak sa ždrjebetom, smještaj konja, pravilan rad s konjima, prilagođeni treninzi i transport konja s odgovarajućom zaštitnom opremom, kvalitetna podloga za trening i natjecanja, cijepljenje i tretiranje protiv parazita, njega dlake i kopita, izbalansirana hranidba i mnogi drugi. Neodgovarajućom preventivom i neznanjem, u začetku bezopasne ozljede ili bolesti mogu dovesti do znatnog pogoršanja zdravstvenog stanja životinje, a u najgorem slučaju i do uginuća konja.
Abstract (english)
Proper prevention of injuries and illnesses of horses requires a great deal of human commitment to the horse. By daily care and nurture, by keeping a record of various behavioral changes it is possible to react on time to a new situation and therefore properly act in case of injury or illness by rapid application of first aid until the arrival of a veterinarian, who will undergo further treatment. For successful prevention, it is important to know all the segments of horse breeding starting from accommodation, nutrition to the basis of anatomy and horse physiology. Important factors in timely prevention are securing the stall during foaling, taking care of a colt, accommodation of horses, proper work with horses, special trainings and horse transport with an appropriate protective equipment, quality surface for trainings and competitions, vaccination and treatments against the parasites, hair care and hoof care, balanced nutrition and many more. Inadequate prevention and unawareness of what is at the beginning a harmless injury or illness can lead to a significant deterioration of animal health, and in the worst case it can lead to a death of horse.
