Abstract
Cilj rada bio je opisati i pregledno prikazati ulogu i značaj sustava združene sjetve u poljoprivredi tropskih područja kroz pregled literature i dosadašnjih istraživanja. U radu su prikazane specifičnosti biljne proizvodnje u tropskom području koja je uvjetovana prvenstveno klimatskom faktorima. Opisane su posebnosti uzgoja združenih usjeva i prednosti koje ovakvi sustavi donose u poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji. Združeni usjevi kao praksa u tropskim predjelima omogućuju stabilnije i veće prinose u odnosu na uzgoj u monokulturi. Učinkovitost upotrebe vode, hranjivih tvari i sunčevog zračenja neki su od značajnih obilježja sustava združene sjetve, a produktivnost združenih usjeva dominantan čimbenik koji ukazuje na pogodnost ovakvih sustava biljne proizvodnje. Takav način uzgoja potiče bolji rast i razvoj kultura što dovodi do povećanja prinosa uz prisutnu kompatibilnost i pozitivano međudjelovanje. Združenim uzgojem, kombinacijom uzgoja, konsocijacijama povećava se razina proizvodnje hrane i bioraznolikost na svjetskoj razini.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the graduate thesis was to describe and clearly present the role and importance of the intercropping systems in agriculture in tropical areas through a review of the literature and previous research. The paper presents the specifics of plant production in the tropics, which is conditioned primarily by climatic factors. The specifics and the benefits of intercrops for the agricultural production are described. Intercropping as a agricultural practise in tropics leads to higher and stable yields compared to sole cropping. Water use efficiency, nutrient and solar radiation use efficiency are some of significant properties of intercropping and productivity of intercrops is a key factor that points out the suitability of such kind of plant production systems. This methos of plant production allows better plant growth and development which leads to higher yields with present compatibility and positive interaction. With intercropping, mixtures of crops and consociation the level of food production and biodiversity is increasing worldwide.
