Abstract
Pčela je jedna od najpotrebnijih životinja čovjeku. Ona nam služi za oprašivanje biljaka i za sakupljanje meda te nam je u cilju pružiti najbolji mogući život u pčelinjoj zajednici. Pčelinje zajednice napadaju razne bolesti, među njima je i grinja Varroa destructor. Grinja Varroa destructor smatra se aktivnim problemom više od 40 godina koji se proširio većim dijelom svijeta. Ovaj vanjski parazit medonosnih pčela hrani se njihovom bjelančevinasto-masnim tkivom i vrlo je štetan za cijelu pčelinju zajednicu. Tijekom svih ovih godina traganja za konačnim rješenjem kako bi suzbili ovu grinju, naučili smo živjeti s njom i metodama tretiranja držati ju pod kontrolom. Za sada ne postoji niti jedan lijek protiv grinje koji je siguran za pčele i učinkovit u suzbijanju. Danas se koristi veliki raspon kemijskih tvari kojima se grinje drže pod kontolom kako bi pčelinja zajednica funkcionirala normalno, a da se pri tome ne uništi njezin način života i njezine proizvode samim tretiranjem ektoparazitskog nametnika Varroe destructor.
Abstract (english)
The honeybee is one of the most needed animals for human kind. It serves us for pollination of plants and for collecting honey and it in our best interest to provide the bees the best possible life in the bee colony. Honeybee colonies are endangered by various diseases, among them the Varroa destructor mite. The Varroa mite has been considered an active problem for more than 40 years and has been spread worldwide. This extoparasitic mite feeds on their protein-fatty tissue and is very harmful to the entire bee community. During all years of searching for a final solution to combat this mite, we have learned to live with it and learned the methods of treatment to keep it under control. So far, there is no drug against mites that is safe for bees and effective in controlling it. Today, a wide range of chemicals are used to keep mites under control in order for the bee colony to function normally without destroying its way of life and products by treating the mite.
