Abstract
Preponsko jahanje je olimpijska disciplina te se na ovim natjecanjima od konja i jahača zahtijeva da završe parkur koji se sastoji od 10 do 13 prepreka koje mogu biti postavljene na travnatoj ili pješčanoj podlozi te nisu fiksne. Cilj ove natjecateljske discipline jest testirati vještinu, točnost i istreniranost natjecateljskog para, snagu skoka konja, umijeće, poslušnost i brzinu pri skakanju. S ovom disciplinom su najčešće povezane ozljede kostiju i ligamenata. Neke od tih ozljeda su rupture ili rane koje naizgled mogu izgledati malo i bezopasno ali mogu ostaviti dugoročne posljedice na konja. Natjecateljska disciplina endurance (daljinsko jahanje) jest disciplina u kojoj se provjerava brzina i izdržljivost konja. Za ovu disciplinu je bitno da konj trku završi u dobroj fizičkoj kondiciji te su za razliku od ostalih disciplina, veterinari sastavni dio natjecanja u daljinskom jahanju. Neke od najčešćih ozljeda ove discipline odnose se na noge i kopita, no pod stresom i umorom zbog dalekih staza može doći i do ruptura mišića.
Abstract (english)
Jumping is an Olympic discipline and these competitions require horses and riders to finish parkour consisting of 10 to 13 obstacles that can be placed on grass or sand surfaces and are not fixed. The aim of this competition discipline is to test skill, accuracy and training of the competition couple, strenght of horse jumping, skill, obedience and speed in jumping. Most often, bone and ligament injuries are associated with this discipline. Some of these injuries are ruptures or wounds that may appear small and harmless, but can leave long – term consequences on the horse. Competition discipline Endurance (remote horseback riding) is a discipline that checks the speed and endurance of horses. For this discipline, it is important that the horse race ends up in good physical condition and, unlike other disciplines, veterinarians are an integral part of the distance riding competition. Some of the most frequent injuries to this discipline relate to legs and hooves, but muscle ruptures can occur under stress and fatigue due to the distant pathways.
