Abstract	Praktično oplemenjivanje kukuruza ima za cilj stvaranje hibrida koji po svojim agronomskim svojstvima nadmašuju proširene standarde u određenom uzgojnom području. Superiorni hibrid moguće je detektirati jedino ispitivanjem na više različitih lokacija i tijekom više godina, odnosno procjenom stabilnosti svakog pojedinog hibrida. Stabilan genotip odlikuje se malom interakcijom genotip × okolina. Za objašnjenje ove interakcije korištene su metode kvantitativne analize koje sumiraju reakcije genotipa na različitim lokacijama i u različitim godinama. Ove metode se temelje na varijanci G×E interakcije, regresiji ili varijanci odstupanja od regresije, koeficijentu determinacije, ekovalenci i slično. Analizirana su svojstva prinos zrna sa 14 % vlage i sadržaj vode u zrnu prije berbe kod hibrida iz raznih heterotičnih skupina. Kod izbora hibrida u cilju povećanja prinosa zrna i stabilnosti prinosa, koji se obavlja na temelju više različitih okolina, može se preporučiti korištenje pokazatelja kao što su indeks stabilnosti prinosa, te umnožak relativnog prinosa zrna i indeksa stabilnosti. Navedeni pokazatelji se jednostavno izračunavaju, a koeficijenti ranga korelacija ukazuju na njihovu povoljnu vezu s prinosom zrna i pojedinim pokazateljima stabilnosti prinosa u svim istraživanim FAO grupama i hibridima. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na značaj okoline za proizvodnju i izbor hibrida, odnosno na činjenicu da će vjerojatnost za izbor rodnijih i stabilnijih hibrida biti veća ako se temelji na rezultatima ostvarenim u manje povoljnim okolinama. U svim FAO grupama ispitivani pokazatelji stabilnosti sadržaja vode u zrnu su značajni jer se izborom na temelju pokazatelja stabilnosti može smanjiti sadržaj vode, posebno u okolinama gdje sadržaj vode u zrnu predstavlja ograničavajući čimbenik uzgoja kukuruza.
Abstract (english)	Objective of classic maize breeding is developing hybrids with superior agronomic traits that exceed standard hybrids that are already in the market of particular growing region. The only way to detect a superior hybrid is to estimate hybrid performance through multiple locations and years (stability assessment of every particular hybrid). Interaction of genotype and environment (G×E) causes small effects on stable genotypes. Methods of quantitative analysis that sum genotype reactions to various locations and years were applied for interpretation of G×E interaction. These methods are based on G×E interaction variance, regression or regression deviation variance, coefficient of determination, ecovalence etc. Analyzed traits with hybrids from various heterotic groups were grain yield (14 % kernel moisture) and grain moisture content before harvest. With hybrid selection in order to increase grain yield and yield stability (based on hybrid performance in multiple environments), some indicative factors such as yield stability index and product of relative grain yield and yield stability are recommended. These factors are easy to calculate, and correlation range coefficients indicate their positive correlation with grain yield and certain stability factors in all estimated FAO groups and hybrids. Results point out significance of environment for maize selection and production, and also they point out the fact that probability for selection of better and more stable hybrids will be increased if based on results from less favourable environments. In all FAO groups grain moisture stability estimates were significant. Selection based on stability estimates can decrease grain moisture content, especially in environments where grain moisture content is a limiting factor in maize production
