Abstract
Usluge ekosustava, kao što su polinacija, regulacija populacije, biološka kontrola, ciklus hraniva, formiranje tla i dr. od ključnog su značaja za održivost proizvodnje hrane , sirovina i prirodnih vlakana. Smanjenje sposobnosti agroekosustava za pružanjem navedenih usluga predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju za osiguranjem dostatne količine i kvalitete proizvedene hrane kao i za sigurnosti hrane diljem svijeta. Cilj ovog rada je objasniti koncept usluga ekosustava i njihove primjene u ekološkoj poljoprivredi kako bi se ublažili pojedini negativni utjecaji intenzivne poljoprivredne proizvodnje i osigurala sigurnost hrane. Ovakav pristup proizvodnji značajno utječe na očuvanje prirodnih resursa, omogućujući agroekosustavima pružanje njegovih usluga te osiguravajući dostatnu količinu proizvedene hrane za rastuću populaciju stanovništa bez štetnog utjecaja na zdravlje ljudi i okoliš.
Abstract (english)
Ecosystem services such as pollination, population regulation, biological control, nutrient cycling, soil formation, etc. are vital for the sustainability of food, raw materials and natural fibers production. The decline in the ability of the agroecosystem to provide these services is a serious threat to ensuring the sufficient quantity and quality of food produced, as well as to food security worldwide. The aim of this paper is to explain the concept of ecosystem services and their applications in organic agriculture to mitigate some of the negative impacts of intensive agricultural production and ensure food security. This approach to production has a significant impact on the conservation of natural resources, enabling agroecosystems to provide its services and ensuring that sufficient food is produced for the growing population without adversely affecting human health and the environment.
