Abstract
Degradacija tla je pogoršanje nekih ili svih svojstava tla čime tlo postaje manje pogodno ili je skroz neupotrebljivo za proizvodnju hrane. Degradacija se javlja i kao posljedica pogoršanja fizikalnih, kemijskih i bioloških svojstava tla, a rezultira zbijanjem, salinizacijom, acidifikacijom, onečišćenjem tla, gubitkom tla erozijom, gubitkom organske tvari tla, smanjenom biološkom raznolikošću, dezertifikacijom i itd. Degradacija tla predstavlja i globalni problem s posljedicama kao što su upitna sigurnost hrane, klimatske promjene, osjetljivost na sušu, smanjena kvaliteta pitke vode, upravljanje rizikom od poplava, smanjena otpornost poljoprivrede na suočavanje s novim bolestima, smanjenjem biološke raznolikosti, itd. Degradacija se može ograničiti, smanjiti i izbjeći odgovarajućim mjerama održivog gospodarenja tlom na način da se održi razina produktivnosti i kvalitete tla.
Abstract (english)
Soil degradation is the deterioration of some or all of the properties of the soil which results in the soil becoming less viable or completely unusable for food manufacturing. Soil degradation occurs as a consequence of physical, chemical or biological deterioration of soil properties, and results in compaction, salinization, acidification of the soil, soil pollution, the loss of soil to erosion, the loss of soil organic matter, a reduction in soil biodiversity and soil desertification. Soil degradation also represents a global problem with consequences such as: questionable food safety, climate change, drought sensitivity, reduced quality of drinking water, flood risk management, reduced agricultural resilience in regards to fighting new diseases and the reduction in biological diversity. Soil degradation can be limited, decreased or completely avoided by using the appropriate sustainable soil management resources in such a way as to maintain the level of productivity and the quality of the soil.
