Abstract
Cilj ovog rada bio je opisati uzgoj heljde, njeno podrijetlo i rasprostranjenost u svijetu i Hrvatskoj, morfološka i biološka svojstva te agrotehniku proizvodnje i upotrebu. Heljda je pseudožitarica koja se proizvodi u velikom dijelu svijeta, ali u malom obujmu. Može se uzgajati kao glavna i postrna kultura. Izrazito je zanimljiva kao postrna kultura zbog boljeg iskorištenja poljoprivrednih površina, ali i zbog niskih prinosa, zbog kojih je postrna proizvodnja isplativija od glavne. Naročito je pogodna za ekološku proizvodnju. Kratke je vegetacije, zbog brzog rasta guši korove, podnosi slabije plodna tla i nema značajnih potreba za gnojidbom te je otporna na bolesti i štetnike. Heljda je izrazito dobra namirnica za prehranu ljudi zbog povoljnog kemijskog sastava sjemenke visoke nutritivne vrijednosti, a također je važna medonosna biljka od koje se dobiva visoki prinos meda izvrsne kvalitete. Koristi se i kao ljekovita biljka u medicinske svrhe koja ima povoljan utjecaj na različite zdravstvene tegobe, poput celijakije te srčanih i krvožilnih bolesti. Upotrebljava se i u hranidbi životinja, ali u manjim količinama zbog alkaloida fagopirina te je dobra kao usjev za zelenu gnojidbu.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this thesis was to describe the growing of buckwheat, its origin and distribution in the world and in Croatia, morphological and biological properties, and technology of production and use. Buckwheat is a pseudocereal that is produced in a great part of the world, but on a small scale. It can be grown as a main or a secondary crop. It is very interesting as a secondary crop due to better utilization of agricultural land, but also because of low yields, due to which production as a secondary crop is more profitable than the main one. The buckwheat is especially suitable for organic production. It has short vegetation, suffocates weeds due to its rapid growth, tolerates less fertile soils and has no significant need for fertilization, and is resistant to diseases and pests. Buckwheat is an extremely good food product in human nutrition due to the favorable chemical composition of the seeds of high nutritional value, and it is also an important honey plant from which a high yield of honey of excellent quality is obtained. It is also used as a medicinal plant that has a beneficial effect on various health problems, such as celiac and cardiovascular disease. It is also used in animal nutrition, but in smaller quantities due to the alkaloid phagopyrin and is good as a crop for green manure.
