Duhan (Nicotiana tabacum L.)je jednogodišnja biljka porijeklom iz Virginije. U Europi se pojavljuje u 16. stoljeću kao ukrasna i ljekovita biljka na području Portugala i Španjolske. Duhan pripada porodici Solonaceae te rodu Nicotiana. U Svijetu se proizvodi mnogo različitih vrsta i tipova duhana, no u Hrvatskoj imamo proizvodnju dva različita tipa: Virginijski i Burley tip. Abstract (english)
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) is an annual plant native to Virginia. It appeared in Europe in the 16th century as an ornamental and medicinal plant in Portugal and Spain. Tobacco belongs to the Solonaceae family and the Nicotiana genus. Many different types and types of tobacco are produced in the world, but in Croatia we produce two different types: Virginia and Burley type.
