Abstract
Cilj istraživanja bio je provjeriti proizvodni potencijal krmne repe i krmnoga kelja u suvremenim uvjetima sjeveroistočne Hrvatske. Istraživanje je provedeno putem poljskog pokusa na Pokušalištu Tenja, Fakulteta agrobiotehničkih znanosti Osijek. Ostvareni prinos korijena krmne repe od 44,8 t/ha bio je nizak i posljedica je jake suše koja je pratila usjev od nicanja do kraja kolovoza. Ostvareni prinos suhe tvari nadzemne mase krmnoga kelja od 12 t/ha bio je visok, a krmni kelj se pokazao tolerantnim na sušu koja je trajala sve do kraja kolovoza. Njegova tolerancija na sušu proizašla je iz činjenice da krmni kelj glavninu svoga prinosa ostvaruje tijekom jeseni, kada prođu vrući i sušni ljetni uvjeti. S obzirom na ostvareni prinos krmnoga kelja, može se smatrati da je on neopravdano zapostavljena krmna kultura, prinosa sličnih lucerni u polusušnom klimatu sjeveroistočne Hrvatske. Osim dobroga prinosa nadzemne mase, karakterizira ga i visoka hranidbena vrijednost jer je bogat bjelančevinama i energijom. S obzirom na karakter nadzemne mase krmnoga kelja, i vrijeme njegova dospijevanja za korištenje, prvenstveno je prikladan za jesensku i zimsku hranidbu kao svježa zelena krma pokošena i položena pred životinje ili kao zimska ispaša.
Abstract (english)
The goal of the research was to test the production potential of fodder beet and fodder kale in the modern conditions of northeastern Croatia. The research was conducted through a field experiment at the Experiment station Tenja, Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek. The realized yield of fodder beet roots of 44.8 t/ha was low and is a consequence of the severe drought that accompanied the crop from emergence till the end of August. The yield of 12 t/ha of dry matter of the above-ground herbage mass of fodder kale was high, and the fodder kale proved to be tolerant to drought that lasted until the end of August. Its tolerance to drought came from the fact that fodder kale builds the majority of its yield during the autumn, upon the end of hot and dry summer conditions. Considering the achieved yield of fodder kale, it can be considered that it is an unjustifiably neglected forage crop, with yields similar to lucerne in the semi-arid climate of northeastern Croatia. In addition to a good above-ground herbage mass yield, it is also characterized by a high nutritional value because it is rich in protein and energy. Considering the character of the above-ground herbage mass of fodder kale, and the time it matures for use, it is primarily suitable for autumn and winter feeding as fresh green fodder mowed and placed in front of animals or as winter pasture for grazing livestock.
