The aim of this thesis was to present in detail the technology of growing tomatoes and the measures of crop care and protection at family farm "Ekmečić". Family farm has been engaged in tomato production for many years, during which time they have gained significant experience and expertise in optimizing agricultural practices. Due to the demanding nature of cultivation and the desire to achieve high and quality yields, it is important to implement care measures, because without it the yields would be significantly reduced. These measures include regular soil cultivation, precise fertilization and timely protection of plants from diseases and pests. Production takes place on an area of slightly more than one hectare, while the production of tomatoes itself takes place on an area of 500 square meters of greenhouse cultivation. All agrotechnical activities, such as crop rotation, tillage and irrigation control, are carried out carefully and systematically to ensure maximum productivity. Protection against diseases and pests is carried out using modern methods of protection, including the use of pesticides that comply with ecological standards. Despite the extremely hot and extremely demanding year for tomato producers, Family farm successfully adapted its agricultural practices and managed to produce a quality product. Education and implementation of new techniques for adaptation to climate change enable the maintenance of stable yields of high quality, even in conditions that increasingly threaten traditional farming methods.
