Abstract
Rodezijski gonič (Rhodesian Ridgeback) je pasmina koja pripada goničima, VI skupini FCI (međunarodnoj kinološkoj organizaciji). Izvorno su nastali u Africi i tamo su se koristili za lov na lavove i čuvanje domorodačkih naselja od krupne predatorske divljači. Visoki su do 67 centimetara, a teški između 32 i 36 kilograma. Mogu se koristiti u lovne svrhe zbog svoje brzine, veličine, izdržljivosti, predanosti i poslušnosti te im je to prvenstvena namjena. Mnoštvo ljudi ih drži kao kućne ljubimce zbog kratke i lako održive dlake, suzdržavanja od lajanja osim kad je potrebno, prilagodljivosti drugim životinjama i djeci te jasnim iskazivanju ljubavi i privrženosti. Kao pas čuvar je iznimno prikladan zbog svoje naravi, veličine i izgleda. Ovaj pas zna procijeniti opasnu situaciju te je suzdržan prema ljudima koje ne pozna i ne napada bez razloga. Uz pravilnu prehranu i dresuru svaki vlasnik će biti zadovoljan izborom rodezijskog goniča, u bilo koju od njegovih mogućih svrha.
Abstract (english)
Rhodesian Ridgeback is a breed that belongs to a group of sixth FCI system hounds . Originally created in Africa and there have been used to hunt lions and keeping native's settlement of various wildlife attack. They are up to 67centimeters and between 32 and 36 pounds. Due to it's speed, size, strength , devotion and obedience they can be used as hunting dogs like is their primary purpose . Numerous people keep them as pets because of short and easily sustainable fur, refraining from barking except when it is necessary, if they grow up with other animals and children also would show love and affection . As a guard dog is extremely convenient because of it's looks and instinct to hunt. This dog can feel dangerous situation , and is restrained to people who he does not know and will not attack for no reason. With proper nutrition and training, any owner will be pleased with his choice of Rhodesian ridgeback .
