Abstract
Autohtonom pasminom može se smatrati specifična skupina životinja, koja je u određenoj zemlji dovoljno dugo uzgajana, da bi se genetski adaptirala na tradicionalne proizvodne sustave i okoliš. Kao genetski resursi su jedan od najvrednijih i strateški najvažnijih rezervi koje svaka zemlja posjeduje. Buša, istarsko govedo i slavonsko-srijemski podolac, potencijalno su vrijedne pasmine i u budućem razvoju poljoprivredne proizvodnje jer pružaju sigurnost za održivu proizvodnju hrane. Njihovim nestajanjem smanjuje se biološka raznolikost u poljodjelstvu odnosno, ukupna biološka raznolikost ekološkog sustava. Jedinstveno su genetsko naslijeđe stvarano stotinama i tisućama godina te kao takvo u određenoj mjeri neponovljivo.
Abstract (english)
Indigenous breed can be considered a specific group of animals, which is in a country long enough bred to be genetically adapted to traditional production systems and the environment. As genetic resources are one of the most valuable and strategically important reserves that a country possesses. Cattle breed Busha, Istrian cattle and Slavonia and Syrmia Podolac are potentially very valuable breed in the future development of agricultural production because they provide security for sustainable food production. Their disappearance reduced biodiversity in agriculture and, overall biodiversity of the ecosystem. The indigenous breeds are genetic inheritance which is devised hundreds and thousands of years and, as such, to some extent unique.
