Abstract
Ekstenzivan način uzgoja svinja ima dugu tradiciju. U Republici Hrvatskoj se otvoreni sustavi držanja temelje na uzgoju autohtonih pasmina crne slavonske i turopoljske svinje. Uzgajati i prirodno iskorištavati treba zdrave, prirodno otporne, čovjeku korisne životinje koje su prilagođene uvjetima uzgojnog područja. Tradicionalni uzgoj se krivo poistovjećuje sa ekološkim. Smještaj svinja važan je preduvjet za uspješnu proizvodnju i usko je vezan s ostalim čimbenicima koji utječu na proizvodnju. Hranidba rasplodnih svinja u razdoblju vegetacije je također jeftinija. Paša je idealno krmivo jer sadrži sve prijeko potrebne hranjive tvari. Osim toga, svinje rovanjem uzimaju i drugu hranu poput raznog korijenja, crve, kukce, gliste i dr. Voda za piće mora biti uvijek dostupna i svježa iz bunara ili iz vodovoda. Držanjem svinja na otvorenom pridonosi se dobrobiti svinja i smanjenju onečišćenja okoliša.
Abstract (english)
The extensive way of pig farming has a long tradition. The Republic of Croatia is holding an open system based on the cultivation of indigenous breeds of Turopoljska and Black Slavonian pigs. There is a need of growing and naturally exploiting of healthy, naturally resistant, man useful animals that are adapted to the conditions of the breeding areas. Traditional farming is incorrectly identified with ecological one. The pig acommodation is an important prerequisite for the successful production and is closely related to other factors affecting production. The nutrition of breeding pigs in the growing season is also cheaper. Pasha is an ideal feed because it contains all the necessary nutrients. In addition, pigs are digging and taking other foods such as various roots, worms, insects, earthworms, etc. Drinking water should always be available and fresh from a well or tap water. Outdoor pig production contributes to the welfare of pigs and reducing environmental pollution.
