Abstract
Cilj rada bio je utvrditi alelopatski utjecaj sjemena i nadzemne mase kima (Carum carvi L.) na klijavost i rast klijanaca korovne vrste strjeličaste grbice (Lepidium draba L.). U laboratorijskim uvjetima u Petrijevim zdjelicama provedeni su pokusi sa zajedničkim klijanjem sjemena kima i korova, te vodenim ekstraktima od svježe i suhe mase kima. Zajedničko klijanje sjemena kima i korova značajno je smanjilo klijavost strjeličaste grbice za 37,2% te produljilo prosječno vrijeme klijanja, ali nije imalo utjecaja na rast klijanaca. Ekstrakti od svježe mase kima u koncentracijama od 5 i 10% smanjili su klijavost korova, ali su značajno povećali duljinu izdanka klijanaca. Primjena ekstrakata od suhe mase kima smanjila je klijavost i rast korova i do 100% u tretmanu s višom koncentracijom. Ekstrakti od suhe mase u prosjeku su imali jače inhibitorno djelovanje od ekstrakata svježe mase.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the study was to investigate the allelopathic effect of seed and plant biomass of caraway (Carum carvi L.) on germination and growth of weed species hoary cress (Lepidium draba L.). Experiments with caraway and weed seed cogermination and water extracts from fresh and dry caraway biomass were conducted under laboratory conditions in Petri dish bioassays. Cogermination of caraway and weed seeds significantly reduced hoary cress germination up to 37.2% and prolonged seed mean germination time, but had no effect on seedlings growth. Caraway extracts from fresh biomass in concentrations of 5 and 10% reduced weed seed germination, and significantly increased seedlings shoot length. Application of extracts from dry caraway biomass inhibited both weed germination and growth up to 100% in treatment with higher extract concentration. On average, dry plant biomass had greater inhibitory potential than fresh plant biomass.
