Abstract
U završnom radu prikazan je početak ideje i potrebe za izgradnjom dvonamjenskog kanala Kneževi vinogradi-Zmajevac. Ideja o izgradnji je postojala još za vrijeme bivše države dok je sama izgradnja započeta 2011. godine. Lateralni kanal ima dvojaku ulogu što znači da pored odvodnje suvišnih površinskih voda daje mogućnost navodnjavanja što u učestalim vremenskim ekstremima na ovom području je od velikog značaja.
Abstract (english)
This paper gives information about the beginning of project idea for dual-purpose canal Knezevi Vinogradi - Zmajevac. The initial project design was given in former Yugoslavian Republic while the beginning of canal construction was during year 2011. Dual-purpose task of canal means that beside the drainage of excessive amount of surface water the role of canal is to provide water for irrigation of arable lands. This is of great importance for this region because of the intensive weather conditions meaning drought
