Abstract
Pir (TriticumspeltaL.) je jedna od najstarijih poznatih vrsta ţitarica. Najvjerojatnije je nastao 5000-6000 godina prije Nove ere na Bliskom Istoku. Morfologijom je sliĉan pšenicama, a u kemijskom sastavu zrna izdvaja se mala koliĉina glutena, koji predstavlja problem osobama oboljelima od celijakije. Podruĉje uzgoja pira poklapa se s podruĉjem uzgoja pšenice. U Republici Hrvatskoj postoje odliĉni uvjeti za ekološku proizvodnju pira. Na ţalost, ne postoji statistiĉka baza podataka o površinama i prinosima pira u našoj zemlji. Obiĉno daje niţe prosjeĉne prinose (oko 3 t/ha) od suvremenih pšenica, ali je od njih otporniji na lošije agro- -ekološke uvjete klime i tla te na bolesti, štetnike i korove. Abstract (english)
Spelt (Triticumspelta L.) is one oftheoldestknowntypesofwheat. Most likelyitappeared some 5000-6000 yearsbeforetheCommon Era intheNear East. In itsmorphology, itissimilar to wheats. However, initschemicalcomposition, a smallamountofglutenispresent, whichcauses a problem to thosewhosufferfromCoeliacdisease. Thegrowtharea for speltconcides to thegrowthareaofwheats. There are excellentconditions for ecologicalproductionofspeltinthe Republic of Croatia. Unfortunately, a statisticaldatabaseofsurfacesandyieldofspeltinthecountry do notexist.
