Abstract
Na području istarskog poluotoka najznačajnija autohtona pasmina koza je istarska koza koja se dobro prilagodila ekstenzivnim načinima uzgoja. Istarska koza je pasmina velikog okvira, otporna i prilagodljiva. Istraživanje je provedeno na tri obiteljska poljoprivredna gospodarstva u Istri na području Galižane, Nove Vasi i u mjestu Principi. U istraživanju je uključeno 35 jedinki različite dobi. Uzimanje tjelesnih mjera provedeno je Lydtinovim štapom, mjerenom vrpcom i stočnom vagom. Utvrđene su slijedeće fenotipske odlike: visina grebena, dužina trupa, širina grudi, opseg trupa kod prsa, opseg trupa kod buta, dubina prsa, opseg cjevanice, opseg buta, dužina buta i tjelesna masa. Analizom fenotipskih odlika istarske koze vidljiv je njihov zadovoljavajući rast i razvoj s povećanjem dobi. Usporedbom s ostalim pasminama koza može se zaključiti da je istarska koza znatno većeg okvira.
Abstract (english)
In the area of Istrian peninsula the most important indigenous goat breed is the Istrian goat that is well adapted to extensive farming methods. Istrian goat is a breed of large frame, resilient and flexible. The study was conducted at three family farms in Istria in the area of Galižana, Nova Vas and Principi. The study has taken measures of 35 individuals of different ages. The measurements were made using Lydtinova rod, tape measure ribbon and animal scale. The following phenotypic characteristics were found: the withers height, body length, chest width, chest girth, waist girth, chest depth, canon bone circumference, thigh circumference, thigh length and body weight. Analysis the phenotypic characteristics with increasing age, we can conclude that goats develop satisfactorily. Compared to the other breeds of goats it can be concluded that the Istrian goats has much larger frame.
