Abstract
Pčele pripadaju među najvažnije kukce oprašivače biljaka cvjetnjača. Evolucija pčela započela je prije 140 do 110 mil. godina, tijekom rane i srednje Krede. Najstariji fosil organizma iz porodice pčela je Cretotrigona prisca, starosti oko 65 mil. godina. Najstariji fosili predaka današnjih medonosnih pčela (izumrli rod Electrapis) stari su oko 45 mil. godina. Porodica pčela (Apidae) podijeljena je u sistematske kategorije: tri potporodice (Nomadinae, Apinae, Xylocopinae), 34 tribusa, 209 rodova i preko 5.700 vrsta. Filogenetska analiza potvrđuje da današnje podvrste medonosne pčele potječu iz Afrike. U radu su prikazani zoološka sistematika, evolucija i filogenija, srodstveni odnosi i moderna klasifikacija porodice pčela (Apidae). Opisane su vrste i podvrste medonosnih pčela te njihova globalna i regionalna rasprostranjenost.
Abstract (english)
Bees are members of the most important insect pollinators of the flowering plants. Evolutionary history of bees originated 140-110 million years ago, during the Early and Middle Cretaceous. The oldest fossil of the organism from the bee family is Cretotrigona prisca, about 65 milion years old. The oldest fossil of the ancestors of today honeybees (extinct genus Electrapis) are about 45 million years old. Bee family (Apidae) is divided into systematic categories: three subfamilies (Nomadinae, Apinae, and Xylocopinae), 34 tribes, 209 genera and more than 5.700 species. Phylogenetic analyses confirmed that recent subspecies of honeybees originated from Africa. In this thesis, a review of the zoological systematic of bee family (Apidae) is given, as well as evolution and phylogeny, relationship and modern classification Species and subspecies of honeybees and their global and regional distribution are described.
