The production of high – quality and healthy fruit of cucumber depends on every technological process it contains. The production od seedlings is the most important, because it provides a safer production, earlier harvest, larger, healthier and more uniform fruits etc. The purpose of this research was to become familiar with the technology of cucumber breeding in the protected area of the family farm „Agrobuli“ and to examine professional and scientific literature about morphologic and breeding characteristics of cucumber. The experiment was especially focused on how the planting distance among the seedlings in the town of Štimje in Kosovo. The following parameters were noted during the research: the flowering time, the fruit formation, the fruiting time, the number of leaves, height of the plant (in centimeters), weight of the fruit (in grams) and legth of the fruit (in centimeters). The research was conducted on the variety Markyza F1. Based on this research, that is on the measured parameters, we can deduce that planting distance did not have a statistically significant influence on the flowering time, the fruit formation, the fruiting time, the number of leaves, height of the plant, weight of the fruit and length of the fruit. As it did not have a statistically significant influence on the measured parameters, it automatically had just as low influence on the entire yield. We deduce that what matters is not the planting distance or the sowing distance, but the agrotechnology, especially the proper growing of seedlings. This report, just like the future reports and researches, can be used as a guideline for further researches on high – quality fruits such as cucumber.
