Abstract
Timijan (Thymus vulgaris) pripada porodici Lamiaceae. Ime roda potječe od grčke riječi thymos ili thymon, što znači tamjan, zbog mirisa koji na njega podsjeća. Timijan je mediteranska biljka. U ostalim dijelovima svijeta uzgaja se kao dekorativna biljka i za dobivanje droga. Origano (Origanum vulgare) je višegodišnja zeljasta biljka iz porodice Lamiaceae. Latinsko ime roda Origanum znači radost planine, vuče podrijetlo preko grčke riječi oros (planina) i ganos (sreća). Ime vrste vulgare znači običan, uobičajen. Drugi naziv za origano je mravinac, jer biljka sadrži eterična ulja koja rastjeruje mrave. Cilj istraživanja je bio utvrditi rast i razvoj timijana i origana pod utjecajem različitih vrsta umjetne rasvjete. Presadnice timijana su bile statistički značajno više pod LED lampama u odnosu na FLUO lampe. Kod timijana, rasvjeta nije utjecala na broj postranih izboja. Utvrđena je značajno veća svježa i suha masa nadzemnog dijela presadnica timijana pod FLUO lampama. Također, presadnice origana su bile statistički značajno više te su imale veći broj listova, duže i šire listove pod FLUO lampama. Masa nadzemnog dijela presadnice origana bila je značajno veća pod LED lampama u odnosu na FLUO lampe. Na kraju, pregledom literature i usporedbom s rezultatima ovog istraživanja može se zaključiti da biljne vrste različito reagiraju na vrstu rasvjete.
Abstract (english)
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) belongs to the family Lamiaceae. The genus name originates from the Greek word thymos or thymon, which means incense, due to the scent that reminds to its scent. Thyme is a Mediterranean plant. In other parts of the world, it is grown as a decorative plant and as a medicinal plant. Origano (Origanum vulgare) is a perennial herb plant from the Lamiaceae family. The Latin name Origanum means the joy of the mountain, drawing its origin through the Greek word oros and ganos (happiness). The type vulgare means plain, common. The aim of the research was to determine the growth and development of thyme and oregano under the influence of different types of artificial lighting. Transplants height was significantly higher under LED lamps compared to that under the FLUO lamps. In thyme, different lighting did not affect the number of lateral shoots. Significantly higher fresh and dry mass of the aboveground part of thyme transplants was found under the FLUO lamps. Also, oregano seedlings had significantly more leaves, as well as longer and larger leaves under the FLUO lamps. The weight of the aboveground part of the oregano transplants was significantly higher under LED lamps compared to FLUO lamps. Finally, comparing previous investigations and result of present research, it can be concluded that plant species respond differently to the different type of additional lighting.
