Abstract
Belgijski ovčar je pasmina srednje veličine za uzgoj, nastala je u Belgiji. Ranije se koristila za ovce, dok se u današnje vrijeme koristi kao policijski pas.Vrlo su inteligentni, atletske građe, skloni dresuri i lako prilagodljivi na različite vremenske uvjete. Razlikujemo nekoliko različitih vrsta belgijskog ovčara, točnije pasmine groenendael, malinois, tervueren i laekenois. Osnovna podjela posebno obučenih belgijskih ovčara ovisno o namjeni, odnosi se na: čuvarske odnosno napadačke pse, pse tragače, detekcijske pse i kadaver pse. Najčešće korišteni psi za obuke i dresure su belgijski malinois, zbog toga što imaju široku primjenu i smatraju se najizdržljivijim radnim psima. Prolaze internacionalni program za športske radne pse koji se sastoji od tri discipline: trag , poslušnost i obrana. Program ima dva osnovna cilja: jedan je utvrditi jesu li pojedini psi pogodni za odgovarajuću uporabnu svrhu, a drugi je, upravo školovanjem prema takvom programu, doprinijeti unapređenju zdravlja i radne sposobnosti pasa iz generacije u generaciju, u cilju njihove uporabljivosti.
Abstract (english)
The Belgian shepherd is a medium-sized breed for breeding, originated in Belgium.Previously used for sheep, while nowadays it is used as a police dog. They are very intelligent, athletic in nature, prone to dressage and easily adaptable to different weather conditions. There are several different types of Belgian shepherd, namely the groenendael, malinois, tervueren and laekenois breeds..The basic division of specially trained Belgian shepherd, depending on their purpose, refers to: guard dogs, attack dogs, track dogs, detection dogs and cadaver dogs. The most commonly used training and dressage dogs are Belgian malinois, because they are widely used and considered to be the most durable working dogs. They are undergoing an international program for sports working dogs, which consists of three disciplines: track, obedience and defense. The program has two basic goals: one is to determine whether individual dogs are suitable for a compatible utility purpose, and the other is to contribute to improving the health and working ability of dogs from generation to generation, through training under such a program.
