Abstract
Kloroplasti se nalaze u u citoplazmi eukariotske biljne stanice te pripadaju skupini organela koje nazivamo plastidi. Kloroplasti sadrže vlastitu DNA molekulu i se mogu dijeliti neovisno o diobi stanice. Kloroplast je mjesto fotosinteze, a fotosinteza je iznimno važna za život na Zemlji. Cilj ovog rada je bio istražiti ulogu kloroplastne DNA (cpDNA) u genetskim istraživanjima s osvrtom na poljoprivredne kulture. Bitno je naglasiti da je uzimanje uzoraka za izolaciju cpDNA potrebno obaviti dok je biljka još mlada zbog čistoće i kvalitete genetskog materijala.
Abstract (english)
Chloroplasts are located in the cytoplasm of a eukaryotic plant cell and belong to a group of organelles called plastids. Chloroplast have their own DNA and have the ability to divide independently of a cell division. Chloroplasts is the place of photosynthesis which is extremely important for life on Earth. The aim of this study was to investigate the importance and role of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) in genetic research with a focus on agricultural crops. It is important to emphasize that sampling fresh young leaves is crucial for cpDNA isolation regarding its purity and quality of genetic material.
