Abstract
Artičoka (Cynara scolymus L.) je biljka koja pripada porodici glavočika. Traži plodno i duboko tlo, redovno zalijevanje i zaštitu preko zime. Pogoduje joj topla mediteranska klima. Višegodišnja je biljka te svako proljeće izrastu nove mladice. Izgledom je biljka velikih zelenih ili sivkasto zelenih listova s nazubljenim krajevima, sastavljenim u rozetu. Cvjetovi su veliki, svjetlo ljubičaste boje, a korijen je razgranat. Životni vijek iznosi 4 godine, a prosječan urod po biljci 10 do 20 cvjetnih glavica. Poznata je još od davnina, uzgajali su se Grci i Rimljani. Vrlo je ljekovita biljka, pomaže pri oboljenju jetre, poboljšava rad bubrega, smanjuje količinu kolesterola i šećera u krvi.
Abstract (english)
Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) is a plant that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It requires fertile and deep soil, regular watering and protection over the winter. It is favored by the warm Mediterranean climate. It is a perennial plant and new shoots grow every spring. It looks like a plant with large green or grayish green leaves with serrated ends, composed in a rosette. The flowers are large, light purple in color, and the root is branched. Lifespan is 4 years, and the average yield per plant is 10 to 20 flower heads. It has been known since ancient times, it was cultivated by the Greeks and Romans. It is a very medicinal plant, helps with liver disease, improves kidney function, reduces the amount of cholesterol and blood sugar.
