Abstract
Danas se sve više javlja potreba za iznalaţenje novih načina za suzbijanje štetnika koja su neškodljiva ili su manje štetna za ljude i okoliš, a istovremeno dovoljno učinkovita u kontroli ciljanog organizma. Eterična ulja u ovom pravcu zauzimaju sve veći značaj. Nanotehnologija omogućuje nove smjernice u poboljšanju primjene eteričnih ulja. Cilj istraţivanja upravo u ovom radu bio je ispitati učinkovitost eteričnog ulja Lavadula x intermedia u suzbijanju odraslog stadija Tribolium castaneum (Herbst). U pokusu su pripremljene dvije formulacije nanoemulzija i emulzija. Nanoemulzija je sadrţavala eterično ulje lavandina (15%), emulgator polisorbat Tween®80 (5%) i destiliranu vodu (80%). U pokusu je testirana i emulzija (oznake Em) s istim sastavom ali pripremljena bez ultrazvučnog homogenizatora. Emulzije su aplicirane na zrno pšenice u četiri doze: 500, 700, 800 i 1000 ppm. Najveći mortalitet zabiljeţen je pri dozi 500 ppm nakon 14 dana ekspozicije. Mortalitet je iznosio 66,2% za Em i 65,3 % za NanoEm. IzmeĎu formulacija nije bilo značajnijih razlika u učinkovitosti.
Abstract (english)
Nowdays, there is an urgent need of new ways for pest control that would be safe or less harmful for human and the environment, but at the same time efficient enough for the pest organism control. Nanotechnology offers new perspective for the improvement of essential oil usage. The aim of the research in this paper was to test the effectiveness of Lavadula x intermedia essential oil in control of the adult stage of Tribolium castaneum (Herbst). In the experiment, two formulations, nanoemulsion and emulsion, were prepared. The nanoemulsion contained lavender essential oil (15%), emulsifier polysorbate Tween®80 (5%) and distilled water (80%). An emulsion (marked Em) with the same composition but without using an ultrasonic homogenizer was also tested. Emulsion were applied to a wheat grain in four different doses: 500, 700, 800 and 1000 ppm. The highest mortality was recorded at the dose of 500 ppm after 14 days postexposure. Mortality was 66.2% for Em and 65.3% for NanoEm. There was no significant difference in efficacy between formulations.
