Abstract
Visoka plodnost svinja temeljni je element uspješne svinjogojske proizvodnje. Svinje su najplodnije od svih domaćih životinja stoga krmače u rasplodu mogu biti do 8 godina te tijekom tog razdoblja dati do 20 legala prasadi. Dva su temeljna načina reprodukcije: prirodni pripust i umjetno osjemenjivanje. Na plodnost utječu razni faktori poput nasljednih čimbenika, spolne i rasplodne dozrelosti, broja potomaka, tipa i pasmine, vanjskih (okolišnih) čimbenika i mnogih drugih. Osim navedenih čimbenika, važnu ulogu imaju i biotehničke metode. Nadalje, kvantiteta i kvaliteta konzumirane hrane ima najveći utjecaj na plodnost kad je riječ o paragenetskim faktorima. Implementacijom metoda za povećanje plodnosti svinja moguće je realizirati zadane ciljeve u proizvodnji. Signifikantan učinak na ekonomičnost proizvodnje ima dobivanje više prasadi po leglu, što je posljedica praktične uporabe svih metoda koje omogućuju dobivanje većeg broja genetski kvalitetnih životinja. Cilj ovog rada je opisati plodnost, reprodukciju svinja te navesti i opisati metode povećanja plodnosti.
Abstract (english)
High fertility of pigs is a fundamental element of successful pig production. Pigs are the most fertile of all domestic animals, so sows can be in breeding for up to 8 years and during this period give up to 20 litters of piglets. There are two basic ways of reproduction: natural reproduction and artificial insemination. Fertility is influenced by various factors such as hereditary factors, sexual and reproductive maturity, number of offspring, type and breed, external (environmental) factors and many others. In addition to the aforementioned factors, biotechnical methods also play an important role. Furthermore, the quantity and quality of food consumed has the greatest influence on fertility when it comes to paragenetic factors. By implementing methods to increase the fertility of pigs, it is possible to realize the set goals in production. Obtaining more piglets per litter has a significant effect on the economy of production, which is a consequence of the practical use of all methods that enable obtaining a larger number of genetically quality animals. The aim of this paper is to describe the fertility and reproduction of pigs and to list and describe the methods of increasing fertility.
