Abstract
Medonosna pčela (Apis mellifera L.) je vrsta insekta iz reda opnokrilaca (Hymenoptera) koja za svoje životne potrebe proizvodi hranu točnije med. Međutim, pčele su danas pod velikim stresom i utjecajem klimatskih promjena i pčelinjih bolesti. Pčele prirodno posjeduju svojstva otpornosti na bolesti legla, a najznačajnije je higijensko ponašanje pčela koje se selekcijskim radom može poboljšati. Pin testom moguće je testirati koliko je vremena potrebno pčelama da prepoznaju i očiste usmrćeno leglo. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi utječe li lokacija okvira u košnici na rezultat pin testa. Na 10 pčelinjih zajednica pin test je proveden na tri okvira u svakoj zajednici. Rezultati higijenskog ponašanja unutar jedne zajednice pokazali su dosta veliku ujednačenost higijenskog ponašanja što potvrđuje pin test kao pouzdanu metodu testiranja higijenskog ponašanja pčela.
Abstract (english)
The honey bee (Apis mellifera L.) is a type of insect from the Hymenoptera order that produces food for its life needs, specifically honey. However, honey bees today are under great stress under the influence of climate changes and bee diseases. Bees naturally possess resistance traits to brood diseases and the most important one is the hygienic behavior of bees, which can be improved through selective breeding. With the pin test method, it is possible to test how long it takes bees to recognize and clean the dead brood. The aim of this study was to determine whether the location of the frame in the hive affects the result of the pin test. In 10 honey bee colonies, the pin test was performed on three frames in each colony. The results of hygienic behavior within one colony showed a fairly high uniformity of hygienic behavior, which confirms the pin test as a reliable method of testing the hygienic behavior of bees.
