Abstract
Alelopatski utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) na klijavost i rast radiča (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) istražen je u laboratorijskim uvjetima. Vodeni ekstrakti pripremljeni su od suhe mase lucerne u tri koncentracije (1 %, 2,5 % i 5 %). Rezultati su pokazali značajni statistički utjecaj na klijanje sjemena, duljinu korijena i izdanka, te svježu i suhu masu klijanaca radiča. Povećanjem koncentracije se povećavao i inhibitorni potencijal vodenih ekstrakata. Klijavost sjemena radiča smanjena je do 54,5 % pri najvišoj koncentraciji vodenog ekstrakta. S druge strane, duljina korijena i izdanka te svježa masa klijanaca u svim su tretmanima smanjeni i do 95,4 %. Suha masa klijanaca statistički je značajno reducirana samo u tretmanu s najvišom koncentracijom vodenog ekstrakta.
Abstract (english)
The allelopathic effect of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) water extracts on the germination and growth of radicchio (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) was investigated under laboratory conditions. Water extracts were prepared from alfalfa dry biomass in three concentrations (1%, 2.5% and 5%). The results showed a significant statistical effect on seed germination, root and shoot length, and fresh and dry weight of radicchio seedlings. As the concentration increased, the inhibitory potential of the water extracts also increased. The germination of radicchio seeds was reduced up to 54.5% at the highest concentration of the water extract. Contrary, root and shoot length and fresh seedling weight in all treatments were reduced by up to 95.4%. The dry weight of seedlings was statistically significantly reduced only in the treatment with the highest concentration of water extract.
