Abstract
Cilj ovoga rada bio je utvrditi proizvodne pokazatelje i reprodukcijske odlike hrvatskih izvornih pasmina koza pregledom znanstveno-stručne literature. U hrvatske izvorne pasmine koza ubrajamo hrvatsku šarenu kozu, hrvatsku bijelu kozu i istarsku kozu. Prema dostupnim podacima, u Republici Hrvatskoj postoji duga tradicija uzgoja koza, no brojnost koza te njihova gospodarska važnost su se mjenjale kroz povijest. Kada usporedimo hrvatske izvorne pasmine koza s nekim inozemnim pasminama što se tiče proizvodnih pokazatelja, naše autohtone pasmine su i dalje nešto manje proizvodnosti. Hrvatske izvorne pasmine posjeduju značajan potencijal, ali je u prošlosti razvoj njihove proizvodnje stagnirao zbog različitih ograničenja u povijesti Republike Hrvatske. No, uz odgovarajući uzgojno-selekcijski rad, moguće je unaprijediti proizvodnost ovih autohtonih pasmina.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper was to determine the production traits and reproductive characteristics of native Croatian goat breeds by reviewing the scientific and professional literature. The original Croatian goat breeds include the Croatian Spotted goat, the Croatian White goat and the Istrian goat. According to the available data, there is a long tradition of goat breeding in the Republic of Croatia, but the number of goats and their economic importance have changed throughout history. When we compare the original Croatian breeds of goats with some foreign breeds in terms of production traits, our native breeds are still slightly less productive. Croatian native breeds have significant potential, but in the past the development of their production stagnated due to various limitations in the history of the Republic of Croatia. However, with appropriate breeding and selection work, it is possible to improve the productivity of these native breeds.
