Abstract
Prirodni dodatci i njihovi ekstrakti imaju učinkovite terapeutske učinake, pa se koriste za liječenje širokog spektra bolesti kako ljudi tako sve više i životinja. Spomenuti terapijski učinci začina i biljnih dodataka stočnoj hrani pripisuju se kombinacijama aktivnih fitokemikalija i sekundarnih metabolita kao što su organske kiseline, terpenoidi, hitin, enzimi, fenolni spojevi te aldehidi, koji mogu djelovati antimikrobno, protuupalno te antioksidativno. Cimet se stoljećima koristio kao začin, ali i kao tradicionalni biljni lijek. Cimet je malo zimzeleno drvo koje pripada rodu Cinnamomum iz obitelji Lauraceae. Istraživanja utjecaja prirodnih dodataka na performanse rasta i zdravlje različitih vrsta i kategorija domaćih životinja potvrdila su učinkovitost ovog dodatka kao promotora rasta koji ujedno bitno unapređuju zdravlje životinja.
Abstract (english)
Natural supplements and their extracts have effective therapeutic effects, so they are used to treat a wide range of diseases, both in humans and increasingly in animals. The mentioned therapeutic effects of spices and herbal feed supplements are attributed to combinations of active phytochemicals and secondary metabolites such as organic acids, terpenoids, chitin, enzymes, phenolic compounds and aldehydes, which can have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Cinnamon has been used for centuries as a spice, but also as a traditional herbal medicine. Cinnamon is a small evergreen tree belonging to the genus Cinnamomum of the Lauraceae family. Research into the impact of natural supplements on the growth performance and health of different species and categories of domestic animals has confirmed the effectiveness of this supplement as a growth promoter, which at the same time significantly improves the health of animals.
