The aim of this study was to determine the effect of treatment with Rivergreen® on growth and development of cabbage seedlings. Rivergreen® is a new product obtained by milling and tribomechanical activation of the Drava river rock sediment. The seeds of two cabagge cultivars were used in this study, cv. Varaždinski and cv. Bijeli futoški domaći. Growth and development of cabbage was monitored until the stage of transplants. After sowing, the plants grew in the climate chamber with regime of 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness. Certain morphological parameters of the transplants were measured after the experiment was completed, namely the stem height, the number, -length and width of the leaves as well as the fresh and dry weight of the aboveground part. After statistical analysis of data, it was concluded that fresh and dry mass of both varieties was significantly higher in plants treated with Rivergreen®. Stem height in both varieties was not affected by the treatment with Rivergreen® as well as the number and width of leaves of the cv. Varaždinski. The number of leaves of the Bijeli futoški domaći was under the influence of the treatment and was significantly higher in treated plants. Further, the leaf width of the specified variety was not affected by the treatment. Cv. Varaždinski developed significantly longer leaves in the case of Rivergreen® treatment, while Rivergreen® treatment did not affect the length of the other cultivar. At the end, it can be concluded that Rivergreen® has an effect on certain morphological properties with positive influence on the development of cabbage transplants biomass that is a prerequisite for optimal growth and development of the plant and finally yield. However, it should be emphasized that the plant response to Rivergreen® strictly depends on variety or plant species.
