The application of biopreparations is becoming a major part of organic blackberry production. Biopreparations in organic production refer to the use of various microorganisms, fungi, bacteria and viruses. As products of metabolism, microorganisms produce antibiotics, minerals and toxins that act against pests and pathogens. All biopreparations are ecologically safe and they are the basis of organic production. By using biopreparations, plant hormones and vitamins are cultivated which increase the resistance of the plant and act on the immune system of the plant itself. Comfrey liquid fertilizer and forest fern fertilizer affect the quality and yield of the fruit, as well as the creation of a defense mechanism in blackberries and increase of the root growth. The nettle preparation works best against aphids, while the horsetail remedy has multiple effects in the fight against yellow rust, red fruit spider and mites. The garlic remedy is used to control mold and mite diseases. Biopesticides, ie, preparations based on natural substances, are increasingly being used in organic production. Biopesticides are divided into biofungicides, of which the most prominent are preparations based on fungi of the genus Trichoderma, then bioinsecticides where two bacterial species stand out, namely Bacillus thuringiensis and Saccharopolyspora spinosa, and bioherbicides for weed control, where the most commonly used one is the fungal isolate of Phytophtora palmivora.
