U punoj krvi utvrđivani su hematološki pokazatelji: broj eritrocita (RBC) i leukocita (WBC), trombociti (PLT), sadržaj hemoglobina (HGB) i hematokrita (HCT), prosječni sadržaj hemoglobina u eritrocitima (MCH), prosječni volumen eritrocita (MCV) i prosječna koncentracija hemoglobina u eritrocitima (MCHC). |
Sažetak (engleski) | This research aimed to analyze the hematological indicators of Krk sheep on the family farm. The research was conducted on 38 Krk sheep on the family farm "Orlić" in the village of Draga Bašćanska on the island of Krk. The samples were taken from sheep that were divided into three groups: 1) 15 sheep up to 2 years old, 2) 11 sheep aged 3 to 7 years, and 3) 12 sheep older than 7 years. Hematological indicators were determined in whole blood: the number of erythrocytes (RBC) and leukocytes (WBC), thrombocytes (PLT), hemoglobin content (HGB), and hematocrit (HCT), average hemoglobin content in erythrocytes (MCH), average erythrocyte volume (MCV). and mean hemoglobin concentration in erythrocytes (MCHC). Blood smears were made and stained with the Pappenhim method. The relative share of certain types of white cells (neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, and lymphocytes) is expressed as a percentage of the total number of leukocytes. The data were prepared in the MS Excel program, and the statistical data processing was performed in the TIBCO Statistica® 13.3.0 statistical program. Lower values of leukocytes, platelets, and MCHC were determined about the reference values, while the value of MCV was higher than the reference values. Within the reference, values were the values of erythrocytes, HGB, HCT, and MCH. As the sheep age increased, there was a significant decrease in leukocytes (10.57:7:71:8.0) compared to the reference values. Also, a significant increase in the erythrocyte constant was determined with the increase in the age of sheep, that is, between sheep younger than two and older than seven years (10.39:11:55) compared to the reference values. Slightly higher values of lymphocytes compared to the reference values were determined, while the values of other indicators (segmented granulocytes, eosinophilic granulocytes, monocytes, and basophilic granulocytes) were within the reference values. |
