Abstract
Vertikalne farme su novi način uzgajanja hrane u urbanim središtima. Suvremeni koncept farmi potječe od mikrobiologa Dickson Despommiera koji je razmišljao o mogučem rješenju za nerazumna tretiranja poljoprivrednih površina te o globalnom zatopljenju i njegovom učinku na budučnost hrane. Vertikalnim farmama su se posvetili inovatori koji zbog sve većeg rasta broja stanovnika u svjetskim gradovima traže nove načine uzgajanja hrane kako bi se nahranilo što više ljudi a pritom potrošilo što manje resursa. U vertikalnim farmama se konstantno provjeravaju makro i mikro nutrijenti kako bi biljke u svakom trenutku dobile ono što im je potrebno. Svaka stavka je strogo kontrolirana a zaštita bilja na vertikalnim farmama je puno lakša nego u tradicionalnoj proizvodnji.
Abstract (english)
Vertical farms are a new way to grow food in urban centers. The modern concept of the farm originates from the microbiologist Dickson Despommier who has been considering a possible solution for the unreasonable handling of agricultural surfaces and about global warming and its effect on the future of food. Vertical farms have been devoted to innovators who, due to the growing population growth in world cities, are looking for new ways to grow their food to feed as many people as possible while spending less resources. Vertical farms are constantly testing macro and micro nutrients so that the plants at all times get what they need. Each item is strictly controlled and plant protection on vertical farms is much easier than in traditional production.
