Abstract
Cilj ovoga rada bio je definirati najznačajnije nutritivne vrijednosti bundeve, korištenje bundeve te njenih nusproizvoda u hranidbi domaćih životinja. Bundeva ima višestruku primjenu pa se tako sjemenke osim za proizvodnju vrlo kvalitetnog ulja, koriste i za proizvodnju farmaceutskih preparata, kao narodni lijek te u kulinarstvu. Plod buče koristi se u proizvodnji dječje hrane i voćnih sokova zbog visokog udjela vitamina, kao i u proizvodnji kompota i džemova zbog visokog udjela pektina. U stočarskoj proizvodnji se pulpa buče koristi u silaži s kukuruzom, kao prirodno gnojivo ali i kao stočna hrana. Kao stočna hrana upotrebljava se i nusproizvod nastao pri proizvodnji ulja – pogače sjemenke bundeve u kojoj zaostane određena količina ulja, značajan dio proteina, minerala, vlakana i drugih sastojaka te je kao takva pogodna za hranidbu životinja. U radu su također detaljno opisane ljekovite i hranjive vrijednosti ploda bundeve, sjemena bundeve, te ljekovita svojstva bundevinog ulja.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this study was to define the most important nutritional characteristics of pumpkin, the use of pumpkin and its by-products in the feeding of domestic animals. The pumpkin has multiple applications. Pumpkin seeds are used for the production of high quality oil but are also used for the production of pharmaceuticals, in folk medicine, culinary, etc. The rest of the fruit is used in the production of food for children and fruit juices due to its high vitamin content and for making compotes and jams due to high pectin content. In animal farming, pumpkin pulp is used with maize silage, as a natural fertilizer but also as a feedstuff. The byproduct produced after oil production - pumpkin seed cake is also used as a feedstuff. Pumpkin seed cake contains certain amount of oil, a significant content of the protein, minerals, fibers and other ingredients and as such is very suitable for animal nutrition. Within this study the medicinal and nutritional values of pumpkin, pumpkin seeds as well as the healing properties of pumpkin oil are described in details.
