Abstract
Lan (Linum usitatissimum L.) je jednogodišnja biljka koja pripada porodici Linaceae. Raste kao polugrm ili grm, s plavo-ljubičastim cvjetovima u cvatu iz kojih se razvija plod u kojima se nalazi sjeme. Koristi se za proizvodnju ulja (sjemenke) i vlakna (stabljika). Za preradu se koriste svi dijelovi biljke. Vrlo je značajan i kao ljekovita biljka. Kvalitetni lan dobiti će se ako se uzgaja na čistom tlu, uz dovoljno svjetlosti i vlage. Na količinu i kvalitetu vlakna utječe visina i debljina stabljike. Vlakna lana su najčvršća prirodna vlakna. Lan se smatra najstarijom tekstilnom biljkom, a naši preci uzgajali su ga radi proizvodnje tekstila. Danas je prerada predivnog lana manje razvijena.
Abstract (english)
Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is an annual plant which belongs to the Linaceae family. It grows as a semishrub or shrub with blue-violet flowers in inflorescence. Within inflorescence develops crop which contains seed. It is used for oil (seeds) and fiber production (stem). All parts of the plant are used for its processing. It is also very significant as a medicinal plant. The high quality flax will be obtained if it grows on a clean soil with enough light and humidity. The quantity and quality of the fiber is influenced by the stem length and diameter. Flax fibers are the strongest natural fibers. Flax is considered to be the oldest textile plant and our ancestors have cultivated it for textile production. Nowadays is the processing of the beautiful flax less developed.
