Abstract
Respiratorno reprodukcijski sindrom značajna je virusna bolest svinja koja je zahvatila cijeli svijet. Širenje virusa među svinjama veoma je brzo, a smrtnost velika. Sve dobne skupine svinja mogu se zaraziti. Posebna pozornost se obraća na svinje koje su uvezene i nove na farmi. Najznačajniji klinički znakovi poput anoreksije, pireksije, agalakcije, letargije i ponekad promjene boje kože imaju velik utjecaj na zdravlje svinja. Respiratorni znakovi mogu uključivati otežano disanje i kašljanje. Ova bolest nema specifičnog lijeka, antibiotici mogu smanjiti pojavu sekundarnih infekcija, ali i ne moraju. Negativan utjecaj ove bolesti na ekonomske pokazatelje u proizvodnji svinja potaknula je znanstvenike u pronalasku rješenja za suzbijanje bolesti. Kontrola bolesti oslanja se na četiri čimbenika suzbijanja: ranu dijagnostiku i praćenje bolesti, biosigurnost, pravilan menadžment te imunizaciju stada. Dobro razumijevanje i poznavanje bolesti te načina širenja među populacijom svinja od iznimnog je značaja za odabir ispravne strategije pomoću koje će se zaustaviti cirkuliranje virusa i ponovno unošenje istoga na farmu.
Abstract (english)
Respiratory reproductive syndrome is one of the most important viral disease of pigs that has spread throughout the world. The spread of the virus among pigs is very fast and the mortality rate is high. All age groups of pigs can be infected. Pyrexia, agalactia, lethargy and sometimes skin discoloration have a major impact on pig health. Respiratory signs may include difficulty breathing and coughing. This disease has no specific cure, antibiotics can reduce secondary infections but they do not have to. The negative impact of this disease on the economic margin in pig production has prompted researchers to find solutions to control the disease. Disease control relies on four factors to control early diagnosis and monitoring of the disease, biosecurity, continuous management, and herd immunization. Good knowledge of diseases and pathogens is important in order to prevent further spread of virus on the farm and to preserve pig populations.
