Abstract
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je pobliže pojasniti što je to selen, što on predstavlja u hranidbi i organizmu goveda, te istražiti učinke suplementacije selena. U ovom radu navedeni su izvori selena u hranidbi mliječnih krava, prikazani su primjeri istraživanja nastajanja kliničkog i subkliničkog mastitisa, učinci suplementacije na mlijeko i kolostrum, sadržaj selena u krvi, učinak selena na kvalitetu mesa i mlijeka i sl. Također su pojašnjeni načini trovanja selenom kada se selen u hranu dodaje u suvišku, kao i prevencija istog. Uloga selena u organizmu goveda je višestruka, te pozitivno djeluje na proizvodne parametre, te zdravlje i reprodukciju krava.
Abstract (english)
Point of this final work is closely explain in more details what selenium is, what it represents in the nutrition and organism of cattle, and to investigate the effects of selenium supplementation. In this work are listed the sources of selenium in the diet of dairy cows, investigated the development of clinical and subclinical mastitis, the effects of supplementation on milk and colostrum, selenium content in the blood, the effect of selenium on meat and milk quality, etc. The methods of selenium poisoning when added to food more than necessary and its prevention are also explained. The role of selenium in organism of cattle is multiple, and has a positive effect on the health and reproduction.
