Abstract
Ječam (Hordeum vulgare L.) je samooplodna žitarica iz porodice Poaceae. Spada u neke od najstarijih kulturnih vrsta te je najšireg areala rasprostranjenosti od svih žitarica. Ječam se danas najviše uzgaja kao stočna hrana zbog njegovih visokih hranjivih vrijednosti. Osim za stočnu hranu koristi se u pivskoj industriji, pekarskoj industriji, tekstilnoj industriji i mnogim drugim. U svijetu se uzgaja na oko 50 milijuna hektara od kojih je čak pola uzgojeno u Europi koja daleko prednjači u proizvodnji ječma.
Abstract (english)
Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is a self-fertilizing cereal from the Poaceae family. It belongs to some of the oldest cultural species and has the largest distribution area of all cereals. Today, barley is mostly grown as animal feed due to its high nutritional value. In addition to animal feed, it is used in the beer industry, baking industry, textile industry and many other. About 50 million hectares are cultivated around the world, half of which are grown in Europe, which is far ahead in barley production.
