The research was conducted in 2019 year at the Laboratory for for vegetable, floriculture, herbs, and spices at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek. The focus of the research was to examine the effect of different concentrations of growth regulators on the germination of Callistephus chinensis on filter paper and in vitro nutrient medium. The plant material that was used is the seeds of the Callistephus chinensis L. 15 petri dishes, sterilized with 96% ethanol, were prepared for the experiment. The seeds were placed on filter paper in petri dishes and on MS nutrient medium (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) with growth regulators. The seeds soaked in distilled water is a control. The experiment was set up in three replicates and stored in an air-conditioning chamber at 23 ± 1 ° C for 14 days. The tested parameters are: seed germination (%), root length (cm) and hypocotyl length (cm). The number of vitrified and contaminated seeds was recorded in in vitro cultivation. The results of this research determined the significant influence of different concentrations of cytokinins on all parameters tested. The highest percentage of germination on filter paper is 51.60%, it was recorded in the treatment with the growth regulator BAP 1 mg/L, only this treatment recorded a higher percentage than the control treatment. In vitro cultivation, the highest percentage of germination was 51.17 % at a BAP concentration of 0.5 mg/L. Different concentrations of BAP significantly inhibit the development of the root system, all treatments have very low values. BAP at a concentration of 1.5 mg/L acts as a growth inhibitor for the test parameters of root length and hypocotyl during cultivation on filter paper, with the least values observed in these treatments. For in vitro cultivation, the highest average root length was observed with BAP 2 mg/L growth regulator treatments and is the only one significantly different from other treatments. The BAP had the smallest effect of 0.5 mg/L, whereas in the tested parameter of hypocotyl length, BAP had the highest influence at this concentration. The minimum length is in the case of BAP treatment at a concentration of 2 mg/L.
