Abstract
Biougljen je čvrsta tvar koja se proizvodi termičkom razgradnjom organske tvari. U svom sastavu sadrži velike količine ugljika. Postotak sadržaja ugljika u biougljenu ovisi o sirovini za dobivanje biougljena i temperaturi procesa pirolize. Inkorporacijom u tlo, biougljen utječe na povećanje sekvestracije ugljika u tlu, povišenje pHvrijednosti tla, povećanje kationskog izmjenjivačkog kapaciteta te na povećanje količine i pristupačnosti hraniva. Pozitivan utjecaj na svojstva tla značajno utječe i na rast i razvoj biljke. Njegova poroznost i velika aktivna površina biljci omogućavaju bolju opskrbljenost hranivima i vodom. Biougljen, također, ima pozitivan efekt na smanjenje CO2 u atmosferi sekvestrirajući ugljik u tlu. Zbog svega navedenog je prepoznat kao poboljšivač tla i kao proizvod koji može poslužiti za održavanje ravnoteže u okolišu. Daljnja istraživanja potrebno je usmjeriti prema poboljšanju procesa proizvodnje i poboljšanju svojstava biougljena te njegove iskoristivosti.
Abstract (english)
The subject on this paper was to show how application of biochar affects chemical capacity of the solil and plant growth and development. Biochar is the firm matter produced by thermic decomposition of organic matter. Biochar composition contains great amounts of carbon. The precentage of carbon in biochar depends on raw material of which biochar is produced and the temperature of pyrolysis. Soil incorporation of biochar increases carbon sequestration, pH-value, cation ecxchange capacity, amount and access of the nutrinets. Positive interest in soil properties significantly affects plants growth and development. Its porousnes and big active surface gives plants better nutrient and water supply. Biochar also decreases neagtive anthropogenic effects on the atmosfere. Because all metioned above, biochar is recognized as an improver of soil characteristics and also can serve as a product that maintains equilibrium in the environment. Further researches should be directed towards improvement of the production processes and biochar properties together with its useability.
