Abstract
Zob (Avena sativa L.) je jednogodišnja prava žitarica koja se uglavnom proizvodi za zrno. Ima visoke hranidbene vrijednosti i dobru probavljivost i iz tog razloga se najviše koristi u hranidbi domaćih životinja, a manje u ishrani ljudi. Osim korištenja zrna za ishranu, koristi se i slama koja ima veće hranidbene vrijednosti za razliku od ostalih žitarica. Zob je biljka dugog dana koja ima dobro razvijeni korijen. Uspijeva na težim i slabo propusnim tlima, a manje na suhim i pjeskovitim. Nema velike zahtjeve prema gnojidbi. U Republici Hrvatskoj se zob sije na vrlo malo površina ( 15 000 – 27 000 ha) s prosječnim prinosom od oko 2,8 – 3,1 t/ha. Proizvodnja zobi je u padu iako Hrvatska ima dobre uvjete za uzgoj ove kulture.
Abstract (english)
Oat (Avena sativa L.) is hardy crop cereal which is mainly produced for grain. Oat has high nutrritional value and good digestibility and for that reason she is used mostly for feeding domestic animals, and less like human food. Except using grain for nutrition, oat can be also used like straw which has higher nutrition values than other cereals. Oat is a long day plant with well developed root. She succeds on heavier and poorly permeable soils better then on dry and sandy soil. Oat do not have high requirements for fertilization. In Croatia there are not many lands sown with oats ( 15 000 – 27 000 ha) and average yields are 2,8 – 3,1 t/ha. Croatia has good conditions for cultivation of this culture, but oat production is still in decline.
