Abstract
Zlatni čagalj je najveći pripadnik porodice čagljeva te predstavlja i jedinu vrstu koju možemo naći izvan Afričkog kontinenta. Najlakši opis njegove veličine je: veći od lisice, a manji od vuka. Čaglja kojeg možemo pronaći na prostoru Republike Hrvatske pripada porodici Canis aureus moreoticus jednoj od najvećih podvrsta čagljeva u svijetu . U Hrvatskoj čagalj pripada u sitnu dlakavu divljač (Zakon o lovstvu NN140/05) i smije ga se loviti tijekom cijele godine, osim ženki dok su visoko bređe i kada vode mladunčad (Pravilnik o lovostaju NN 067/2010). U Hrvatskoj se šire ekstremnom brzinom zbog neatraktivnosti lova, minski sumnjivih područja te zaštićenih područja. Samo praćenje ove vrste, čestim lovom možemo populaciju dovesti u normalno stanje
Abstract (english)
Golden Jackal is the largest member of the jackal family and he is also represents as the only species that we can find outside the African continent. The easiest description of his size is: larger than a fox and smaller than a wolf. The jackal that we can find on the territory of the Republic of Croatia belongs to the family Canis aureus moreoticus one of the largest subspecies of jackals in the world . In Croatia, the jackal belongs to small hunting game (Hunting law NN140/05) and it is allowed to be hunted whole year. Excepts are only for females when they have signs of pregnancy and when leading small pups (Hunting Regulations OG 067/2010). In Croatia they are spreading at an extreme speed due to the unattractiveness of hunting, mine-suspected areas and beacause natural protected areas. We can bring the population of golden jackals to a normal state by monitoring and frequent hunting.
