The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of udder health in dairy cows, and on own research show the importance of udder in getting quality and quantity of milk. The research is done on a family dairy farm Marjanovic in Mirkovci. Through the research, amount of produced milk, number of somatic cells and microorganisms were determined for the period of 2015. Milk was through all the year hygienic safe and also belonged to the E class, except in December when it belonged to the first class. Number of somatic cells for May, June, July and August was above 250.000/ml which indicates that there was a possibility of the mastitis disease of a smaller number of cows. Looking at these results it can be concluded that the health condition of cows on the family farm Marjanovic was good through all the year with minor deviations which did not cause the deterioration of the quality and hygienic safety of milk. All this implies that the importance of udder health in dairy production is great, and the prevention and diagnosis of disease at an early stage with appropriate treatment is an important segment of proper production management, because mastitis in addition to losses due to medical expenses, reduced milk production and milk uselessness if its not diagnosed it could cause huge losses by mixing milk of infected cows with healthy cows milk for which milk will be worse classed and it would lose on price or in the worst case, it will become hygienic improper and useless
