Abstract
Voda zauzima važno mjesto kako po svojoj količini tako i po kvaliteti. U fiziološkom smislu voda je osnovni sastojak svih tjelesnih tekućina, uključujući limfu, krv, slinu, a ima i bitnu ulogu u svim procesima u organizmu. Ona otapa vitamine, minerale te druge tvari čime pospješuje njihov transport u organizmu, štiti tkiva i organe, regulira tjelesnu temperaturu, olakšava probavu te pomaže eliminaciji štetnih tvari iz organizma životinje. Voda je vrlo bitan čimbenik dobrobiti životinja te utječe na fiziološke potrebe životinja, njihovo ponašanje, zdravlje, produktivnost, reprodukciju te osjećaje. Boljim razumijevanjem potreba za vodom pojedinih vrsta i kategorija životinja mogu se identificirati stvarne potrebe životinja za tim neizostavnim i jako bitnim nutrijentom, što će u konačnici i smanjiti prekomjerno korištenje vode.
Abstract (english)
Water occupies an important place both in terms of quantity and quality. In a physiological sense, water is the basic ingredient of all body fluids, including lymph, blood, and saliva, and it plays an important role in all processes in the body. It dissolves vitamins, minerals, and other substances, which improve their transport in the body, protect tissues and organs, regulate body temperature, facilitate digestion, and help eliminate harmful substances from the animal's body. Water is a very important factor in the well-being of animals and affects the physiological needs of animals, their behavior, health, productivity, reproduction, and feelings. By better understanding the water needs of certain species and categories of animals, the real needs of animals for this indispensable and very important nutrient can be identified, which will ultimately reduce the excessive use of water.
