Abstract
Slanutak (Cicer arietinum L.) jednogodišnja je mahunarka iz obitelji Fabaceae, potporodice Faboideae. Sjemenke slanutka bogate su bjelančevinama, Jedna je od najranijih uzgojenih mahunarki, a na Bliskom istoku pronađeni su ostaci stari 9500 godina. Također se koristi u salatama, juhama i gulašima, curryju i drugim proizvodima. Slanutak je važan u indijskoj, mediteranskoj i blistoistočnoj kuhinji. Indija je 2019. godine bila odgovorna za 70 % globalne proizvodnje slanutka. Usjev je relativno otporan na sušu zbog dubokog korijena. Sjemenke slanutka kliju u roku od nekoliko dana pod uvjetom da su temperature više od 0 ºC. Usjevi slanutka najprikladniji su za dobro drenirana ilovasta i glinasta tla i imaju dobru sposobnost zadržavanja vode. Tlo se priprema za obradu na jesen, jer s ranom sjetvom nema dovoljno vremena za proljetne radove. Prinosi zrna mogu doseći 3,2 t/ha.
Abstract (english)
Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an annual legume from the Fabaceae family, a subfamily of Faboideae. Chickpea seeds are rich in protein, It is one of the earliest cultivated legumes, 9500-year-old remains have been found in the Middle East. It is also used in salads, soups and stews, curry and other products. Chickpeas are important in Indian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. In 2019, India was responsible for 70 % of global chickpea production. The crop is relatively drought resistant due to its deep roots. Chickpea seeds germinate within a few days provided the temperatures are above 0 ºC. Chickpea conditions are most suitable for well-drained loamy and clay soils and have good water retention capacity. The soil is prepared for cultivation in the autumn, because with early sowing there is not enough time for spring work. Grain yields can reach 3.2 t/ha.
