Abstract
Menta je višegodišnja zeljasta biljka iz obitelji Lamiaceae, dobro je poznata kultura eteričnog ulja od ekonomske vrijednosti u prehrambenoj, parfumerijskoj i farmaceutskoj industriji. Menta se koristi od davnina kao ljekovita biljka, a od 19. stoljeća počinje se koristiti kao začin. Predstavlja višegodišnju aromatičnu zeljastu vrstu. Kultivira se diljem svijeta te imaju značajnu gospodarsku važnost. Vegetacija biljke traje od 80 do 100 dana ovisno o klimatskim uvjetima. Menta se uzgaja i u našim područjima jer su agroekološki uvjeti povoljni za uzgoj ove kulture te se mogu postići visoki prinosi uz visok sadržaj eteričnog ulja. Žetva se obavlja kada se otvore prvi cvjetovi zbog najveće količine eteričnog ulja. Menta posjeduje brojna ljekovita svojstva i koristi se u raznim dijelovima medicine. Najčešće su primjene za ublažavanje probavnih tegoba, za smirenje te protiv brojnih alergija. Očekuje se da će globalno tržište mente zabilježiti porast od 4,2 % u sljedećih pet godina.
Abstract (english)
Mint is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Lamiaceae family, a well-known essential oil crop of economic value in the food, perfumery and pharmaceutical industries. Mint has been used since ancient times as a medicinal plant, and since the 19th century it has been used as a starter. It represents a perennial aromatic herbaceous species. It is cultivated all over the world and has significant economic importance. The vegetation of the plant lasts from 80 to 100 days, depending on the climatic conditions. Mint is also grown in our areas because it is agro-ecologically favorable for growing this crop and high yields can be achieved with a high content of essential oil. Harvesting is done when the first flowers open due to the highest amount of essential oil. Mint has many medicinal properties and is used in various parts of medicine. They are most often used to alleviate digestive problems, to calm down and against numerous allergies. The global mint market is expected to grow by 4.2% over the next five years.
