This thesis examines an indirect steam dryer that uses natural gas as an energy source. The main objectives o this work were: 1. To determine the energy cconsumption o the dryer when drying oilseed rape, 2. Measure the grain temperatures at the inlet of the dryer,during drying and at the outlet of the dryer to determine the damage of the grain by the internal stress.The researh was conducted at the „KONČAR“ dryer during the 2020 drying season. To calculate the drying capacity and energy consumption of the dryer, measurements of humidity and grain temperature at the inlet o the dryer, humidty and grain temperature at the outlet o the dryer, the amount of steam flow though the dryer, per time unit or the upper part of the dryer, temperature and relative humidity before the heater, at the entrance and exit of the upper drying zone.The analysis o the sample of dried oilseed rape did not show an increased percentage of fracture after drying, which indicates a good flow of grain through it (no retention plugs) and air temperature by indirect drying. The use of the „KONČAR“ dryer for large agricultural enterprises, where the goods of local family farms also end up, is justfield through cost-effectiveness given its efficiency and specific fuel consumption and the possiillity of using natural gas, which is increasingly acceptable to the population today.
